This 1955 model year Aston Martin was owned by the Honourable Squadron Leader Phillip Ingram Cunliffe-Lister DSO. He was the son of Lord Swinton, the head of MI5 and MI6 during the Second World War and a close friend of Sir Winston Churchill, not to mention Ian Fleming's boss. It is believed that this car was the inspiration for the Ian Fleming character James Bond's car in the seventh novel 'Goldfinger'. Phillip Ingram Cunliffe-Lister had various modifications made to the car which were similar to Bond's own DB MkIII specification; for example reinforced bumpers, two-way radio, hidden compartments and Halda Speedpilot. It is evident that this Aston visited Fleming's near-neighbour many times, in such a small village it would have been especially noticed by Fleming as he was a keen motoring enthusiast. This unique and special piece of motoring history has been lovingly and painstakingly restored. It comes complete with its original buff Log-Book and a variety of bills and receipts from the 60's and 70's, together with an indepth file highlighting all of the evidence of its connection with Ian Fleming and Bond.
